REGIONAL CENTERS
For our clients,
access can be one of their most critical challenges. At our
three regional centers, we offer access to most of the services
available to clients at our Elizabeth Taylor Medical Center
in Downtown Washington. Every year the level of services
we offer increases, in an effort to provide the most comprehensive,
compassionate and convenient care to our clients.
The Max Robinson Center
-- Once
housed in rented space, MRC now serves the Anacostia section
of the District of Columbia in a freestanding state-of-the-art
medical facility that we own. Through community outreach programs,
aggressive HIV testing and counseling, and by serving as a
consensus builder among leaders in Ward 8, we educate the
African-American community about risk reduction strategies
and help them change unsafe behaviors. AIDS remains the number
one killer of African-Americans between the ages of 25 and
44. We are pledged to turn this statistic around.
WWC of
Northern Virginia --
Since 1988, Whitman-Walker Clinic of Northern Virginia has
served an ever-growing suburban gay and lesbian community
and those living with HIV and AIDS. WWC/NOVA's staff
is committed to providing the widest range of services possible
to clients living in Arlington, Falls Church and Alexandria
and Fairfax, Prince William, Loudon and Stafford Counties.
Since the region is home to many in the area's Latino community,
services and programs are made available to native-Spanish
speakers in their own language. From primary medical care
through case management; housing counseling and financial
assistance; legal services; education and prevention; mental
health counseling and support groups, we are proud of our
commitment in Northern Virginia. We also offer client support
services such as massage and bodywork, the respite of a healing
garden and labyrinth and numerous volunteer opportunities
in all our departments. Our commitment to the WWC mission
continues to bring quality health services to our HIV and
GLBT communities.
