Center and Metro DC PFLAG Place Array of LGBT Services in
Convenient Area
WASHINGTON – Whitman-Walker
Clinic welcomes the move of the DC Center to 14th and S
Streets, NW.
“We are pleased to welcome
our new neighbor in the 14th Street Corridor,” said
Don Blanchon, executive director of Whitman-Walker Clinic.
“With the Center moving in at 14th and S Streets and
Metro DC PFLAG moving into the Clinic in January 2010, the
LGBT community will have a wide array of services conveniently
located within two blocks.”
“Whitman-Walker Clinic
remains committed to providing a larger set of health care
services for the LGBT community, particularly expanding
health care options for lesbians, bisexual women and the
transgender community,” said Blanchon. “We look
forward to collaborating with The Center to ensure that
more LGBT community members are receiving timely services
through their primary medical home. We look forward to working
with The Center to continue to provide the best service
possible to the LGBT community.”
Established in 1978, Whitman-Walker
Clinic is a non-profit, community-based provider of health
care in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area. Through two
sites in the District of Columbia, the Clinic offers primary
medical and dental care; mental health and addictions counseling
and treatment; HIV education, prevention, and testing; legal
services; and medical adherence case management. Whitman-Walker
Clinic is committed to meeting the health needs of the gay,
lesbian, bisexual and transgender community and people living
with HIV/AIDS.
