LATINO COMMUNITY
Whitman-Walker Clinic ensures
that the Latino community has access to HIV/AIDS programs
and services. In addition, staff provides bridges between

providers throughout the greater metropolitan Washington
area.
Bilingual staff members are available in the Clinic's
Medical Center, HIV Counseling and Testing, Legal Services,
Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Services, and
the Clinic's Regional Center in Northern Virginia.
Spanish-speaking staff and volunteers provide community
street outreach offering referrals for services and support
in the areas of HIV and STD education, risk reduction,
counseling and testing and HIV/AIDS prevention activities
in the Latino GLBT communities and the Latino community
as a whole.
Clinic staff participates in the planning and implementation
of existing programs and activities of the Clinic to ensure
the provision of culturally competent bilingual services
and client advocacy to better serve the Latino community.
Education and prevention services are provided through
the dissemination
of educational materials during street outreach in bars,
